Our initiative towards the better health of the community

हाम्रो स्वास्थ हाम्रै हातमा "Our health in our own hand"

           The Health subcommittee of our subchapter is proud to announce a weekly health check up program "हाम्रो स्वास्थ हाम्रै हातमा(Our health in our own hand)". The coordinator Mr. Krishna Murari Poudel said, "In the beginning phase of the project, any individual from society can get the free check up of body weight, Blood Pressure and blood glucose level. Later on the program will be expanded to whole body check up". To start up the project, this saturday, April 14th 2012, the health subcommittee  organised a volunteer orientation program to teach the volunteers about minuting and budgeting of the program. The session of Minuting was run by Secretary Mr. Diwakar Silwal and the other session about the budgeting was held by treasurer Mr. Umesh Silwal. DC member Mr. Rajan Khadka, sub treasurer Mr. Harihar Bhandari, youth volunteers Miss Sunita Silwal, Mr. Kumar KC, Mr. Samrat Kandel and Mr. Puspa Poudel were also present in the occassion.


              The program was mainly sponsored by Himalayan Online Services Pvt. Ltd(HONS) who had promised to give NRs. 1000 Per month as long as the program runs and for starting donated the tracksuits to volunteers worth NRs. 3500. The other sponsor Mr. Prakash Bhattarai, HOD Finance Department, World Link Communications Pvt. Ltd. also promised to give NRs. 1000 per month upto 25 months from the starting of the project. For this help NRCS is going to provide him a distinguished membership. Social worker Mr. Ravi Khadka donated 11 vests (Blue and Brown) to the volunteers of the project. Mr. Nabin Poudel donated the weighing machine, sphygmomanometer (Blood Pressure Testing device)  as well as Blood Glucose level testing machine. Stationeries required for the project was donated by Mr. Umesh Silwal and Mr. Krishna Murari Poudel while the donation box has been provided by Mr. Yamsang Lama, a staff of WLink. Flex board and banner has been supplied by Mr. Dipesh Shrestha.

We are the best again



NRCS Balkot Subchapter has been the best subbrach in the district for the regular second time in the histroy of NRCS Bhaktpur District Chapter. Not only that, this year NRCS Balkot Yuba Circle has been announced as the best among the youth circles and NRCS Chairperson Mr. Lava Kumar Karki as 'the most active volunteer' of Bhaktapur district. These announcement was made on the 17th District Annual General Meeting of NRCS Bhaktapur Chapter held on April 7th 2012. While announcing these prizes the Chief guest to the program, NRCS National General Secretary Mr. Dev Ratna Dhakhwa encouraged the volunteers of Balkot Subchapter and erged that not only the best in district, they actually could get the best among the whole nation if they keep up their good works in the same rate. On the occassion the other speakers also praised the good works of Balkot subchapter.

            The Program was organised by NRCS Bhaktapur Chapter in the hospitality of Duwakot Subchapter and was inaugurated by Mr. Dhakhwa by lighting candles. The second session of the program was more concentrated on the election because it was the time to select a new committee members for next four years. The election was started on 4pm and end at 6 pm. In that election the present Chairperson Mr. Manoj Kumar Thapa was undisputed candidate for the Chairperson again so he was selected without voting while the 12 persons for the members of committee were voted among the 24 other nominees. Out of which Miss Krishneswori Hada got the most votes while DC secretary Mr. Krishna Gopal Lageju was also one of the winners. Mr. Rajan Khadka representative from Balkot Subchapter also won for the second time as executive memeber of DC.


          In this note, we would like to congratulate all our volunteers who directly or indirectly support our subchapter to maintain the best position for two regular years. Click here for more pictures.

Blood Donation Program organised

Nepal Red Cross Society has been conducting different programs coordinating with other different organisation situated in Balkot. Recently, on the opening program of Paradise Academy, NRCS Balkot Subchapter coordinated to run "open blood donation program". In that program we collected about 54 pints of blood among the donors 10 were Ladies blood donors. The program was coordinated by NRCS Balkot sub chapter vice chairperson, Mr. Chandra Krishna shrestha. On the occasion Chairperson, Mr. Lava kumar karki, District committee member Mr. Rajan Khadka, Secretary Mr.Diwakar Silwal, Treasurer Mr.Umesh Silwal, Vice-secretary Mr. Jayraj poudel, Mr. Hari har Bhandari, NRCS Balkot Yuba Circle chairman Mr. Krishna Murari poudel and 20 other youth volunteers were employed to make the program great success.
